Job Description
Responsibilities:
Assist cheesemakers
Maximize work enjoyment of the entire team while meeting processing plant goals and requirements
Prioritize and organize tasks on a daily and weekly basis to maximize hours
Ensure quality is maintained in each aspect of your responsibilities
Manage risk of contamination with diligent cleaning/sanitizing of workplace and equipment
Ensure food safety procedures are adhered to
Communicate with and provide information to the Quality Assurance manager to test for quality and safety of all products
Look after daily/weekly cleaning and sanitizing checklists in processing plant and related areas
Set up production equipment
Work with packaging department for weekly cheese cutting day
Ideally you will develop a wide range of food safety and equipment skills related to the cheese making industry. As your knowledge and capabilities develop, there may also be opportunity to take on further or different responsibilities.
Experience an asset but not required.
Must have a keen eye for detail.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Schedule:
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
