The work week will generally be Monday to Friday, 7:00am until work is completed. The amount of work will vary depending on the day of the week, time of year, how you manage the work, and number of available packaging staff.
Any hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week will be paid time and a half overtime.
Responsibilities:
Be part of the team responsible for all weekly packaging, shipping and stock control.
Maximize work enjoyment of the entire team while meeting packaging, shipping and retail requirements.
Prioritize and organize tasks on a daily and weekly basis to maximize hours
Ensure quality is maintained in each aspect of the packaging process
Keep a general knowledge of product on hand and upcoming orders/specials etc.
Problem solve if/when shortage or over-stocking occurs to minimize waste
Manage risk of contamination with diligent cleaning/sanitizing of workplace
Ensure food safety procedures are adhered to
Communicate with and provide information to the Quality Assurance manager to test for quality and safety of all products
Ensure orders are assembled, weighed and tracked accurately
Look after daily/weekly cleaning and sanitizing checklists in packaging areas and other common areas as needed.
Ideally you will develop a wide range of food handling and equipment skills related to the food manufacturing industry. As your knowledge and capabilities develop, there may also be opportunity to take on further or different responsibilities
Experience an asset but not required.
Must be able to lift heavy objects.
